BOSS Paul Crosbie vented his frustration at the officials after a controversial late equaliser denied March Town United victory on Saturday.

The Hares were minutes away from consecutive league victories after Lewis Thompson’s first-half penalty appeared to have secured all three points against Braintree Town Reserves at the GER.

The visitors levelled in the closing stages - but Crosbie insisted their goal came through a foul on March keeper Marc Hipwell.

He said: “We were seeing the game out and then our keeper was bundled into the net after taking the ball!

“We then should have had a penalty when Stuart Anderson was rugby tackled in the area.

“It’s a missed opportunity but we were not at our best.”

The Hares, who sit sixth in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, host league leaders Cambridge University Press tomorrow.

The table-toppers lost for the first time this season at Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday.
