The Hares slumped to yesterday’s defeat, which leaves them 10th in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, in front of just 35 fans at the GER.

It was not the ideal comeback for newly re-signed Michael Anker, who came on as a second-half substitute.

“We got what we deserved,” said Crosbie. “We lacked any sort of desire.

“We are too ready to look for, and find, excuses rather than just taking care of individual roles.”

The Hares, who have not won in the league for five games, host Cambridge University Press in the quarter finals of the Cambs Invitation Cup on Saturday.

• MARCH Town United Reserves were also beaten 4-0 on Saturday as they crashed to defeat against Huntingdon United RGE.
