A SECOND half fightback was not enough to stop March Town United from suffering a disappointing 3-2 loss against Saffron Walden Town at the GER.

The visitors surged into a three goal lead against a lacklustre Hares side in the first half but the second half was a different story.

Robbie Masters pulled a goal back on the hour mark and Lewis Thompson struck a second goal seven minutes from full time to give March hope of an unlikely comeback.

Ash Brand thought he had grabbed the equaliser but his effort was wrongly ruled offside.

The defeat leaves March 12th in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League First Division.

Their next match is an away game with Downham Town tomorrow night.
