Jordan Gill says he is proud of what he has achieved in the past year ... but the Chatteris boxer is convinced the best is yet to come.
As Gill prepares to turn 20, he can look back on the past 12 months with pride - he has extended his perfect professional record to 10 wins, claiming his first knock-outs and title in the process.
He said: “I’ve progressed a lot. I’m maturing as a fighter and as a man. I turn 20 next week and I think big things will start happening next season. I’m hoping to bring some big titles back to Chatteris.”
Gill was meant to be in action on Saturday in front of his home fans in Peterborough but the show has been scrapped, leaving him understandably frustrated.
But, instead of resting on his laurels, Gill is training hard to make sure he is even more devastating when he returns to the ring in September.
He said: “It’s frustrating (the cancelled bout) but I’m keeping on it. At the moment I’m sparring with Kell Brook to help him prepare for his world title fight in August.
“I’m staying 100 per cent focused so when I do fight next I will deliver a brutal knock out.”
