The Anglian Players have been entertaining the people of March since 1951, and the tradition continues next month, with their production of Life and Beth by Alan Ayckbourn.
This witty and whimsical comedy, only written in 2008, was the 71st play penned by the prolific Mr Ayckbourn.
The play’s story revolves around the recently widowed Beth Timms (played by Ali Fox) and the efforts of various people to comfort her.
Those endeavouring to make her first Christmas alone easy and enjoyable include her drunken sister-in-law Connie (Nicky Marsh), her salesman son Martin (Alan Hooks) and his disinterested girlfriend Ella (Cassie Heighton), the amorous local vicar Rev. David Grinseed (Chris Jarvis) and even her late husband Gordon (Jim Wetherall)!
The play will be performed on November 14-16 in the March Community Centre in Station Road. Performances start at 7:30pm.
Tickets cost £7 (concessions £6) and can be bought before hand at The Pet Shop in Station Road (from November 4); they can also be purchased at the door.
There will be a licensed bar and a raffle will be held during the interval.
