FAMILIES from across Fenland are invited to an event in Chatteris that will raise money for disadvantaged children in the East of England.
The table top sale is being hosted by Kayleigh Evans in aid of Ormiston Children & Families Trust and is taking place at the charity’s children’s centre on Saturday (September 15).
The event will feature stalls from 15 traders, each offering a variety of items for sale, from cakes and jewellery to paintings and hand-made cards.
There will also be a raffle on the day. Prizes include a meal deal for four at the Cross Keys Hotel in Chatteris, supermarket vouchers and a variety of beauty treatments at a local salon.
One of the main prizes of the event will be a ride in a limousine. Visitors will have to guess how many balloons are filling a car, and the person with the closet answer will be crowned the lucky winner.
Kayleigh, an Ormiston volunteer, said it will be a great day out for all the family, with something to suit everyone.
She said: “Entry to the Table Top Sale is free and there will be a huge range of products for sale on the day. There will be raffles and competitions for the children to get involved in and prizes that range from teddy bears and toys to treats for the parents.”
Ormiston will use money raised from the event to help “make young lives better” in the East of England.
The organisation has more than 40 projects spread across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Bedfordshire, and works with children, young people and their families who are facing the very real threat of social exclusion, for example, as the victims of racial abuse, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol misuse.
• The table top sale is open from 10am-3pm at Ormiston’s Chatteris & Villages Children’s Centre in Larham Way.
