THIS is to let you know that Chatteris has now been judged by the Anglia in Bloom judges and they were very impressed with the efforts of the town.

Could I please take this opportunity to thank all the people and businesses to many to mention by name who have helped the Chatteris Town in Bloom Committee make this year such a success, your efforts with baskets, tubs, cleaning and tidying made a real difference, so thanks to you all from the committee. The judges made great comment about the amount of community involvement.

Could I also say a massive thanks to our street cleaner Dave, who retires this year, whatever will we do without you? Your memory will live on in the shrubs you donated for Furrowfields car park. May you have a long and very happy retirement?

Thanks must also go to our Chairman, Sue Elam, for her enthusiasm and dedication to what on some occasions seemed a hopeless cause, thanks for all the 5am starts you and your son, Peter, have put in to do the watering, for planting, chasing cheques, and advertising for the calendar which is now on sale, to raise funds for next year's event.
