A COLLEAGUE asked if the paper was covering the British Raining National Finals apparently taking part this weekend in the Fens.

Seemingly not, so the umbrella can stay indoors, but we will be taking a look at the British Reining National Finals which is an altogether more splendid affair.

On Saturday and Sundays some of the UK's top trainers and show riders will be battling it out for top honours at Horse Creek Farm, Stags Holt, and seemingly this equestrian sport is set to be part of the Olympics by 2012.

Sounds fun to me. Let's hope it doesn't rain on their reining parade!
