TV weatherman Michael Hunt visited March in 1967 to make a presentation at the town's Burrowmoor School.

He was rewarding two pupils after the school had been placed first in a weather competition for the primary schools in Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely.

The two boys pictured receiving the award - Stephen Cornell, left,and Reginald Gill - were the two principal contributors to the school's entry which was a weather graph.

In the background is Mr D J Rowe, the teacher who was instrumental in the school's entry.

The competition was arranged by Mr D G Alexander, advisory teacher of rural studies for the county, and judged by Mr Hunt.

Ten schools entered the competition and Alderman Jacobs School, Whittlesey, was highly commended.
