HE was a world beater with a problem - no one would believe the feats of strength claimed by this pig farmer, so he set out to prove otherwise.
The man in question farmed at Binnimoor, March, where he had 400 pigs. He claimed he could pick up an 80lb pig and put two rings through its nose within 10 seconds and was the only man in the world who could do it.
He told the Cambs Times: "I have been doing it for 50 years, but nobody believes it."
To let everyone know his claims were true, the 64-year-old offered £100 to anyone who could prove him wrong.
To claim the £100, challengers had to pick up the pig and ring it faster than the farmer.
Strong men were a feature of the family and his great grandfather, 'Strong Gypsy Bill' was well-known in the Welney area as being the strongest man in the country.
Can you tell us the name of the pig farmer in this picture taken in 1970? Was he really that strong? Did anyone challenge his strength and win the £100?
THE baby in this picture was in such a hurry to arrive into the world that he caught everyone on the hop and had to be delivered by a neighbour!
By the time the doctor and midwife arrived it was all over and the baby tipped the scales at a healthy nine pounds.
It was very fortunate that the neighbour happened to have worked at Wisbech's Bowthorpe Maternity Hospital and knew what do.
The happy parents, who lived in New Drove, Wisbech, were very glad the neighbour was at home when they needed her.
Said the proud dad: "That's one incident in my life I will never forget, I was worried out of my mind."
Do you recognise the young mum and the baby in the picture which was taken in 1968? Who was the neighbour who played the good Samaritan?
