YOUNGSTERS at a Fenland school enjoyed a visit from Henry VIII on Friday as they spent the day re-living the Tudor period.
Two members of the Black Knight Historical group visited Westwood Junior School in March and the school’s Year Four pupils and staff donned Tudor costumes for the day.
Children made masks, quills, tried their hand at calligraphy and experienced the type of weaponry and armoury that Henry and his maid servant would have used.
The day ended with Henry firing his crossbow and longbow in the school’s playing field. The visit was organised as part of the year group’s on-going Tudor project.
