HUNDREDS of Cambs Times readers have helped to generate a cash windfall for two March causes.
The Token of Support community fundraising appeal launched in the Cambs Times by the town’s Anglia Co-operative foodstore in Badgeney Road is going so well that even more money will now be shared between the store’s chosen causes - March Air Training Corps and March and District Museum.
Customers are given a token every time they shop and are asked to place it in a special box for the cause they wish to support – and, at the end of the promotion, the one receiving the most ‘votes’ will pick up a cheque for £300, with £150 going to the other.
Store manager Andy Ayres said: “There has been a great response to our Token of Support campaign – and because of that we’ve decided to increase the ‘kitty’ from £250 to £450.
“The campaign doesn’t close until May 12, so there’s still plenty of time for you to show your support to two very worthy March causes – and help one of them become £300 richer. You decide who gets what!”
