March Lions are sponsoring, for two years, the training programme for a female Golden Labrador puppy called Immie, to be a guide dog for the blind.
She has now moved in with her puppy walker, Laura. She has already mastered some commands, sit and bed. Every morning she walks to school with Laura and her two sons. She gets lots of cuddles from the school children. Her favourite word is kibble, which means good, and she loves food.
The Lions will get a ‘pupdate’ report again in June to update us on her training.
Today 180,000 blind and partially sighted people rarely leave their home alone. March Lions decided to help by sponsoring Immie as a guide dog. Each guide dog partnership involves about two years’ training, seven years of support, and costs almost £50,000.
