FAIRLEEDE Sports and social Club at Chatteris held its second annual vegetable, preserves, chrysanthemum and dahlia show in 1967 and it proved to be a huge success.
There were lots of entries and the judges, Mr HC Holliday and Mr T Parsley were both impressed with the quality.
Walter Bell was easily the most successful exhibitor and gained the show points cup with 137. He also had the best exhibit in the vegetable class.
Peter Quince won the chrysanthemum cup with 62 points and also had the best exhibit in that class.
The cups were presented by R Palmer of Wisbech, who was introduced by Mr C Hosken, chairman of the Fairleede Club.
