THE Royal British Legion Women's Section held its monthly meeting at the British Legion headquarters in West End. Chairman Ann Coomber opened the meeting with the exhortation. The branch has been invited by the Royal British Legion Veterans Association to their Veterans Day event at Whittlesey on Sunday.
Chele Knott, treasurer gave her financial report. It was agreed the Branch Standard would attend the Service of Dedication for the new County Standard at St Peter's Church on July 8. Members parading will meet at Sainsbury's 2pm.
Five members produced a 1972 penny for the competition oldest 1p in current circulation and were awarded five points.
After refreshments served by Beryl Lilley and Chele Knott everyone was involved in preparations for their fundraising tombola stall at March Festival Gala.
The branch hosted the Group C meeting at its headquarters on Monday June 18. Quizmaster was Joy Gravett and the winner Wendy Cox, of March branch.
The next monthly meeting will be on Thursday July 5 (7.30pm)
