MEMBERS were welcomed to the February meeting by Colin Greenwood, vice-chairman. Joy Parker read the club's prayer. Town Council chairman, Cllr Florence Newell spoke about Fenland District Council's draft corporate plan for 2007-2010. She explained about the future profile of delivering services. She answered questions afterwards.
Members also received a visit from COPE (Cambridge Older People's Enterprise). Robert Boorman spoke about the group's origins, and its aims, to challenge ageism, reduce social exclusion and promote active ageing.
Chatteris members of COPE are invited to a Forum on Healthy Body and Healthier Mind, to be held on March 5, at the Guildhall, Cambridge. Transport and lunch will be provided.
Pearl Melton and helpers served refreshments and Freda Aspinall and Helen Pestill organised the monthly draw. Next meeting: March 2.
