The July meeting was held in the Community Centre on Tuesday. President Valerie Ware welcomed Pat Williman from West Walton who brought along WI books for sale. Secretary Janet Groves gave the minutes of the June meeting and the president read the county news letter and also gave the details of the entry taken to the East of England Show which was awarded 97 points out of a possible 120. A report on the WI walkers was given by Celia Crawshaw. Birthday pens and handkerchiefs were presented to Janet Groves, Valerie Ware, Ann Balls, Carol Gore, Ann Balls, Barbara Gray and Celia Crawshaw.The speaker was Tammy Smalley, the Wash Estuary Protection Officer, who gave a talk with slides showing the history and living landscapes around the Wash area. The monthly competition was for a book mark, points of 5 each were given to Margaret Clowes and Mollie Rollins. Points for the Flower of the Month were Phyliss Balls, Valerie Ware, Barbara Gray, Linda Cragg 5; Ann Balls, Gill Kirby, Mollie Rollins.
