THE five-hour marathon meeting of the Tourist Information Review Team on Monday proved to be constructive and productive, with town and district councillors, officers and local people involved in tourism across Fenland focussing on how best to promote the area.
The length of the meeting, in Whittlesey Town Council Chamber, and the positive spirit in which it was conducted, will help ensure that the review of tourist information across Fenland accurately reflects the future needs and concerns of the tourist industry.
Some key players in Fenland's tourist industry contributed to the consultation meeting, including Peter Clayton, chairman of the Octavia Hill House Trust; Teresa Squires, manager of the National Trust's Peckover House; Paula Syred, managing director of Fox Narrow Boats, as well as Ray Wicks, Penny Stocks and Alan Sherfield of Wisbech and District Tourist Information Group.
Councillor Simon King, chairman of the Review Team, said: "I would like to thank all those who attended what was a thoroughly instructive consultation.
