PRESIDENT Cynthia Spooner welcomed members and visitors to the first meeting of Chatteris Morning WI since the summer break at King Edward Community Centre.
Reminders were given of several forthcoming events, including the autumn council meeting. Mrs Spooner also had quizzes for sale to raise funds for her forthcoming Cuba Cycle Challenge.
After the business section Mrs Spooner introduced a member of the team from the Raptor Foundation, who brought four owls for display. Ann Grainger gave a vote of thanks, which was followed by light refreshments and the draw.
Members will host The World's Biggest Coffee Morning today (Friday) at the King Edward Centre (10am-noon). The next meeting of the Morning WI will be on Friday, October 13, with a demonstration on bell ringing by Mr J Wyles.
