LIFE-SAVING lessons on dry land. These members of Wisbech Youth Club were certainly getting into the swim of things back in 1960.
For eight weeks the young people in the picture had been meeting to master the various techniques of life-saving before actually taking to the water.
The dry land lessons had been organised in conjunction with Wisbech Swimming Club and all members were being entered for the Bronze Medallion examination being held later in the year.
The course proved to be so successful it was hoped to make it a regular event.
Are you in the picture? Can you put names to any of the faces? Who was the leader of the youth club at that time? Did you go on to take the Bronze Medallion? Where was the exam held? Have you ever had to put your life-saving skills to the test?
