SOME of the windows of a house in Broad Street, Whittlesey, formerly a school, must be replaced, says a Government inspector.
He has ruled that UPVc windows installed in the house at 1a Broad Street are not in keeping with the planning approval granted for the conversion.
The windows which must be replaced "have a modern tilt method of opening that materially affects the appearance of the building", said the inspector, who added: "It seems unlikely that the old previously existing windows had the same opening method."
The inspector ruled there had been a breach of planning control but has amended the enforcement notice to allow some of the windows to stay.
"It may be difficult now to replace the existing windows with windows that exactly match those shown on the approved drawings," he said.
"These are matters for the appellants and Fenland District Council to resolve.
