RAIL commuters from Huntingdon are facing delays and cancellations this morning following an overnight factory blaze near Peterborough which caused the line to close.
Six fire engines were called out to the Eagle Park industrial estate in Yaxley, at 3.10am today (Friday) after reports of lorries and a fruit and veg factory on fire with possible explosions from inside.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service found gas cylinders and wooden pallets ablaze at the business park and battled the flames for more than two hours before finally getting the fire under control by 5.27am.
The nearby rail line was closed down during the incident but has reopened. However, travellers to London Kings Cross and Peterborough have been warned to expect 20 minute delays with some trains not stopping at Peterborough.
