A “beautiful and vibrant” mural is to be the centrepiece of Chatteris thanks to painting work that’s well underway this week.
The Larham Way underpass is already benefit from a splash of colour thanks to local businesses voluntarily working together over the next week.
Cambridgeshire police has teamed up with children at Cromwell Community college and local business including Metalcraft, Alan Bartlett and Sons Ltd, Produce World Group, Travis Perkins, Ellis Winters Estate Agents, Maxey Grounds Estate Agents and The Green Welly Cafe & Motel to get the work underway.
A notice posted to the site reads: “Volunteers from Cromwell and Cambridgeshire Constabulary (Fenland) will be painting a mural in this underpass funded by local businesses using ideas from local school children.
“This will be a piece of art that represents what Chatteris means to young people to be enjoyed by the whole community.
“This is to give the residents of Chatteris a beautiful and vibrant piece of artwork for years to come.”
