Hundreds of people rolled into Whittlesey at the weekend as historic buses and coaches took over the town once again.
Fenland Busfest, which is run by the Eastern Bus Group, a Cambridgeshire-based organisation for owners and enthusiasts, took place on Sunday (May 21).
Market Street in Whittlesey was closed for a major bus display and there was a classic car show in the town centre with 60 exhibits.
Fenland Busfest visitors had the chance to ride on both vehicles and many others, some of which recreated Morley’s of Whittesey’s legendary 501 service to Peterborough.
Among more than 30 Busfest vehicles were two historic local double deckers saved by group members from being scrapped over the past 12 months.
Nathan Merryweather, one of the organisers, said: “Thank you to everyone who attended.
“Words are not enough - especially to our team of volunteers and all those who brought a bus down to visit and those who went above and beyond to help.”
One person said on Facebook: “Thanks for a great day out. Congratulations to the organisers and bus participants.”
Another said: “What a great day. Thanks to all involved, you all worked very hard to organise the successful event. Well done.”
Craig Schofield wrote on social media: “I had a great day at the event. The highlight for me was a ride on the superb ex Blackpool Leyland Atlantean, UHG353Y.”
