Crowds of people turned out to watch a beacon being lit in honour of the queen’s birthday yesterday (Thursday) evening at Chatteris.
Residents were treated to patriotic tunes played by the Salvation Army band and also heard the town crier read a message from Clarence House, written by Prince Charles.
Mayor James Carney then let the beacon outside the church.
