The streets of Benwick came alive with music, dancing and festive celebration when the eighth Dickensian fair was staged in the village.
Despite freezing weather people still turned out to enjoy a range of craft stalls, a visit with Santa, Uncle Mick’s Punch and Judy and a hog roast.
At the event were the Pig Dyke Molly’s and Midwinter Mummas, along with stalls including specialist cheeses, fudge and preserves.
The day was organised by the Benwick Residents Association.
Lynn Kepel-Spoor said: “The weather was terrible but it didn’t’ dampen people’s spirits. Everybody who came along had a good time.”
