Children In Need events raised £415 at Cavalry Primary school in March.
Year 5 students along with their teacher Miss Ellis organised a cake sale and activities including guess the teddy bear’s birthday and covering Pudsey Bear outlines with 20p coins.
The children came to school in non-uniform and enjoyed a fun filled fund raising day.
The BBC’s first televised appeal was in 1955. Called the Children’s Hour Christmas Appeal, it was fronted by glove puppet Sooty Bear and Harry Corbett and continued until 1979. Children in Need began in 1980.
