The event will take place as part of the March Christmas Market on Sunday December 6 and will see runners going through the town centre starting and finishing at Georges Bar and Restaurant.

There are two levels that runners can get involved in.

One is a 1.5km fun run which starts at 10.30am or for the more energetic there is a 5km run which starts at 11am.

The event has been organised by Georges and runners are encouraged to raise money for their favourite charity.

EACH will have a stall at the event on the day and are hoping that as many local people as possible will raise money for the vital work the charity does.

Lucy Glover, EACH Cambridgeshire fund raiser, said: “The March Santa run looks set to be a great event, and a fantastic way to get into the festive spirit.

“We’re hoping as many runners as possible will choose to run to in support of EACH who care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire and support their families.”

Nigel Marsh, Manager at Georges Bar and Restaurant, has organised the event. He said: “Georges is pleased to be hosting the March Santa Run with the support of March Athletics.

“We’re hoping to make this the biggest and best Santa Run March has ever seen so please encourage your friends, family and work colleagues to join us on the day and take part. Help us to raise lots of money for your favourite charity.”

Adult entry is £10 and includes a Santa suit while entry for those aged 15 and under is £5 and includes an elf hat.
