Forty-two per cent of Cromwell Community College pupils achieved at least one A* or A grade in their A-levels.
The college is celebrating a dramatic rise in results this year - the proportion of higher A-level grades has doubled, with 55 per cent of the total grades awarded A*-B. 71 per cent of grades were A*-C or equivalent and the overall pass rate was 98 per cent. In addition, 28 per cent of A-level grades were at least A.
Vocational subjects also did well, with 92 per cent of students achieving a Distinction or Distinction* grade. All students achieved a Distinction to Pass grade.
Principal Jane Horn said: “I am so proud of the pupils and that their dedication has paid off. The college has worked hard this year to secure improvements; we are delighted that these can be seen in the results that the pupils have achieved.
“Many pupils have been accepted into the universities of their choice or now have the grades to move on the other opportunities.”

Laura Baker achieved A*, A, A in Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
Tom Wayman achieved A, A, A in Chemistry, Maths and Physics.
Lucy Halls achieved A*, A, B in Maths Further Maths and Physics.
Jake Wignall achieved A, A, Distinction* for Psychology, Religious studies and ICT.
