Neale-Wade Academy student George Garford has been recognised as an exceptionally talented musician.
With the support of the academy’s head of music Ceri Griffin, the year 11 student was successful in his audition for the prestigious Aldeburgh Young Musicians, who train gifted young musicians across a wide range of music.
Aldeburgh Young Musicians have performed at The Royal Festival Hall and Clore Ballroom (Southbank Centre), London Jazz Festival and Latitude Festival.
In January, they performed at the National Holocaust Memorial event, broadcast on BBC 2, in front of Prince Charles and Prime Minister David Cameron.
Miss Griffin said: “George is an outstanding musician, whose improvisation skills were spotted last year in the First Time Live project that Neale-Wade participated in with London Sinfonia.
“He has been an asset to the Music Department, involving himself fully in all activities and is sure to thrive in Aldeburgh Young Musicians.”
