Members of the March Society found out more about their Fenland neighbours when they were taken on an evening stroll around Chatteris.
The tour included the Parish church of St Peter and St Paul, the 17th century Cross Keys pub, the site of the old Crown pub and theatre, the Boar’s Head pub, a ropemakers’ building and Lindsell’s brewery.
They were guided by Julie Smith, of the Chatteris Past Present and Future Civic Society, who shared anecdotes about some old Chatteris buildings and families.
The March Society’s next event is a Life in March in the Year of the Three Kings with John Shaw on Wednesday, September 3 at 7pm in March Library.
Members £2, non-members £3, including tea, coffee and biscuits.
