AROUND 400 was raised at a highly successful two-day craft fair at the Oliver Cromwell Hotel in March.
A wide variety of crafts were on display including knitted garments and jewellery to original artwork and hand-made Christmas cards.
Visitors were also treated to a spinning demonstration and watched a machine knitter make a variety of garments.
Organiser Barbara Ellerbeck, chairman of Fenland Machine Knitting Circle, said: “It was a really fantastic event, there was a lovely atmosphere and we were pleased to help raise money for charity.”
Cancer Research and Magpas and Fenland Road Safety Campaign (Charlotte’s Way) ran fundraising stalls. A further 60 was collected for Children in Need and the main raffle raised money for Cancer Research and Magpas.
Barbara said: “All the stallholders gave raffle prizes and we had other prizes from Fleurtations in March, we had vouchers from Sainsbury’s and Tesco and my club donated a basket of fruit.
“It was great event, and we are already planning another craft fair to be held in the hotel in the spring.”
