YOUNGSTERS packed Cromwell Community College’s “best ever” careers convention as exhibitors flocked to the event from across the country.
A spokesman for the Chatteris School insisted the annual fair - which saw a record 34 stands on offer during the day - was Cromwell’s “biggest and best ever” convention.
Representatives from the Royal Navy, construction firm Kier and colleges from across England - including the College of West Anglia - were among those on hand to offer career advice on the day.
Jill Clarke, the event’s organiser, said: “With budget cuts and unemployment at its highest for many years our pupils need to absorb as much information as they can.
“We hope days like this give youngsters a chance to interact with the experts which will hopefully trigger some ideas about what they might want to do in the future.”
The post 16/18 convention was also attended by Year 6 pupils from Cromwell’s feeder primary schools in Fenland.
