MARCH Lions Club made a special presentation to an 86-year-old woman who baked and iced 12 Christmas cakes for the group’s festive hampers.
Esme Buley’s efforts were recognised with a certificate of appreciation and a Christmas hamper, presented by Lion Trevor Stockbridge.
The club delivers hampers to elderly residents around the town with the support of Co-op, Tesco, G’s Fresh Beetroot and Fenmarc which all supply food items. Lions also provide money to purchase additional items to fill the hampers.
Mr Stockbridge said: “We often forget many of March town’s elderly are often alone at this time of year. So a big thank you to all those who donated.
