The 53-year-old woman was walking along Inham’s Road, Whittlesey, shortly before 9am yesterday (Thursday December 2) when the incident happened.
As she approached New Road, a “sandy coloured” large German Shepherd dog, being walked in the opposite direction, lunged at the woman and bit her leg, ripping her coat and causing injuries.
A woman was walking the dog on a lead but did not stop. She is described as white, 20 to 25, slim and about 5ft. She was wearing a hat.
Pc Leanne Cracknell said: “The victim needed medical treatment following the dog bite and is concerned it may bite someone else.
“I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened, or the owner of the dog, to come forward.”
