The Christmas lights switch-on takes place tonight (Friday) and here's what you need to know.

The lights will be switched on at 7pm, on Friday, November 25, by the mayor of March at the March Market Place, PE15 9JF.

Road closures in effect from 5pm approximately until event end.

For those driving in to see the light or need to move their car last minute, council car parking is available at:

  • City Road - PE15 9LS
  • Leisure Centre and Library - PE15 9LT
  • Robingoodfellow's Lane - PE15 8HL
  • Darthill Road - PE15 8HP

The March Christmas Lights organisers have also announced on their Facebook page, prior vandalism, and the location not permitting the putting up of security fences, the tree will be bare at the bottom.

However, the committee welcomes members of the public to decorate the lower level of the tree at their own risk and expense.

Due to the current cost-of-living crises the March Christmas Lights will be switched off at 10:30pm approximately, which is earlier than previous years.
