This year's Chatteris Christmas lights switch-on event has been hailed as a huge success.

On Saturday, November 26, residents of the town filled the market town’s streets for the big switch-on which took place at 4pm. Cambs Times: Stalls at the 2022 Chatteris Christmas Lights.Stalls at the 2022 Chatteris Christmas Lights. (Image: Harry Goodman)

The High Street was filled with stalls, fairground attractions, including classics such as hook-a-duck and shooting galleries stocked with toys.

Food trucks and local establishments served refreshments to a hungry audience throughout the night. Cambs Times: The Royal British Legion Youth stall at the 2022 Chatteris Christmas Lights. The Royal British Legion Youth stall at the 2022 Chatteris Christmas Lights. (Image: Harry Goodman)

The Christmas Lights committee were out and about to do some fundraising for next year's event to get a head start.

The switch flipped, with some difficulty, with a few big hard pushes from the lucky girl from Glebelands Primary Academy and Santa Clause at 4.30pm. Cambs Times: Refreshments being served at the Church of St Peter and St Paul at the 2022 Chatteris Christmas Lights.Refreshments being served at the Church of St Peter and St Paul at the 2022 Chatteris Christmas Lights.
