The colourful event was another shining success for the town and the volunteers who run it, the March Christmas Lights group.

The big switch on for March was Friday, November 25, and the streets were packed with residents waiting for the lights to finally come on after weeks on anticipation.

Families from around the town enjoyed a festive market and a funfair thanks in part to March Air Cadets and St John's Ambulance.

The March Christmas Lights group said: “Thank you to all March residents and visitors for attending the March Christmas Lights switch on event yesterday evening.Cambs Times: Girls sat at the nativity scene in March High Street.Girls sat at the nativity scene in March High Street. “Even with the switch on clashing with the England football match, we had a very good turn out and it did not rain!!”

The March Christmas Lights group is always looking for support. If you would like to join them you can send a message to their Facebook page.
