Eight-year-old Rex Pooley from March, Cambridgeshire, competed in two national karting championships this year and won both.

Superone is the longest-running kart championship in the UK and is often seen as the most prestigious championship.

Successful alumni include Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, George Russell, Lando Norris and Paul Di Resta, multiple British Touring Car Champion Jason Plato, Formula 1 commentator and former F1 driver David Coulthard.

Rex also won the bambino kart championship.

Both championships took his family around the UK competing in 12 weekends with some fierce competition. 

Rex would like to thank his engine builder, Tim, at Lerego performance, and Terry Fullerton, for the chassis.

Rex will now move up a class into waterswift restricted.

His brother Max, five, will be starting his bambino kart career next year.

"We are looking for sponsors if anyone would like to sponsor Rex," said his mum, Laura Ann Pooley.
