An East Cambridgeshire parish council is "very disappointed" after a play area was damaged just one month after a refurbishment that cost £106,000.

Burwell Parish Council said that, on October 3, black tyre marks were left by an electric scooter.

Yvonne Rix, Burwell Parish Council clerk, said: "We are very dissappointed, especially as the play area was only refurbished at the end of August.

"The community had also raised £10,000 towards the cause, so it has affected local residents too."

She added: "We haven't got any CCTV and we're not sure what's going to happen yet.

"It's got to be taken to council for a decision to be made."
