A "fantastic turnout" from the community of Chatteris marked Remembrance Day 2023.

On Armistice Day (Saturday November 11), people gathered at the war memorial at 11am for a short service of Remembrance, led by Chatteris branch Royal British Legion chairman Anne Wells.

The branch & WS Standards were in attendance and the Last Post and Reveille were played expertly by Roman Darville Ringham from Cromwell Community College.

Reverend James Thomson led the prayers.

Then, on Sunday November 12, a parade, full wreath laying and church service was held to mark Remembrance Day.

"The turnout was fantastic," said Tina Prior of the RBL.

"Thanks to everyone who attended to participate or spectate. Everyone conducted themselves with respect and dignity.
