Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a pub in Leverington early yesterday morning (Thursday, December 21). 

Six fire engines from Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, and an aerial appliance, were sent to reports of the fire at 1:38am. 

The fire had started on the first floor and spread to the roof. 

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters tackled the fire using four hose reels and an aerial appliance and the fire was out by 4.45am.  

“Two people were taken to hospital for a precautionary check having suffered smoke inhalation.  

“The cause of the fire was accidental. Crews had all left the scene by 5.25am.”
