A swimming pool in a Fenland town is to remain closed due to costly repairs.
The Empress in Chatteris is, according to its trustees, in need of a “major repair which will take a significant amount of time and money”.
A post on the swimming pool’s Facebook page reads: “We have now received the engineers report that we were waiting on.
“Unfortunately, it is not good news and a major repair is required, which will take a significant amount of time and money to repair.
“Therefore, unfortunately the swimming pool will now remain closed.
“The office staff will begin all season ticket and private hire refunds as soon as they are able.
“We thank you all for your patience, and will update you on any future developments.”
The post added that “going forward, we do still require another trustee.
“This is an unpaid voluntary position - ideally the said person will be a member or past member of the pool who has the time to help with the running of the trust.
“Anyone that is interested should please get in contact.
“Thank you. The Trustees.”
