Drivers in Cambridgeshire are advised to allow more time to travel this morning as the A14 eastbound between junctions 37 (Newmarket) and junction 39 (Kentford) is fully closed due to flooding.

All three lanes on the A14 eastbound are currently expected to remain closed throughout morning’s peak traffic period, with motorists advised to avoid the area and plan alternative routes if possible.

National Highways has been continually working at the scene following heavy rainfall last week, with tankers and gulley suckers deployed to help clear floodwater from the surface.

Extensive investigations continue to find the source of the flooding.
