A busy stretch of the A47 in the Wisbech area will be closed for three nights from this evening.

The road between Elm High Road Roundabout and Lynn Road Roundabout will be shut from Thursday February 29 to Saturday March 2 due to resurfacing work.

Work will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.

Traffic will be diverted as follows:

  • Drivers heading eastbound will be diverted from the A47 at the Hardwick Road Roundabout onto the A10 towards Downham Market.
  • There they will then take the A1122 Downham Road and the A1101 Wisbech Road back towards Wisbech to re-join the A47 at the Elm High Road Roundabout.
  • Drivers heading westbound will use the same diversion but in reverse.
