A care home in a Fenland town has been chosen by residents and their families as one of the Top 20 care homes in the east of England - for the seventh year in a row.

The Gables in Chatteris has beaten more than 1,500 care homes in the region to win an award from carehome.co.uk.

The award is based on reviews of the care home written by their residents, as well as their friends and relatives.

Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of carehome.co.uk, said: “We would like to congratulate The Gables on being a Top 20 care home in the East of England as their reviews show they provide an excellent standard of care.

“It is such an achievement to be named as a top rated care home by the residents who actually receive the care as well as their family and friends.”

Tom Lyons, managing director at Black Swan Care Group, said: “We’re so delighted for Black Swan to be recognised once again in these awards.

“The fact that they are based directly on the feedback from our residents and their loved ones makes this a fantastic achievement.

“It’s really satisfying to know that people recognise how we strive to provide top-quality care to our residents each and every day.

“We’re very proud of our team at The Gables Care Home in Chatteris. To win the award for seven years in a row is truly remarkable and testament to their consistency in providing high quality care.

“We would like to thank all of our staff throughout the group, as well as our residents and their loved ones for giving us feedback and reviews which allow us to continually improve our services.”
