Two years of helping communities celebrated at Fenland event

Hosted by Cambridgeshire ACRE - the charitable organisation that works alongside rural communities across the county - the event was held at the Royal British Legion Club in Manea.

Representatives from the 12 Community Living Rooms across Fenland attended the event to network, to receive certificates celebrating their successes over the past two years, and to share their stories.

More than 7,000 hours of volunteer time have been given in the past two years thanks to the network of hubs across the district, enabling hundreds of residents to benefit from free and regular meeting places.

The Fenland Community Hubs Network is part of ACRE's Cambridgeshire network, and is a collaborative initiative designed to support residents. There are similar networks in East Cambridgeshire, and South Cambridgeshire.

Run within existing community spaces, residents can visit a safe and friendly environment to enjoy free refreshments and social activities, obtain information and advice, and share the company of others.

The network of Community Hubs is truly community-led; coordinated and hosted by trained volunteers within the heart of local communities.
