This year's Christmas lights switch-on in March has been hailed as a "magical" event.
Jo Colwell, of the March Christmas Lights committee, said that on Friday November 28, the town centre came alive with festive cheer.
She said this year’s celebration may mark a historic milestone as, after uncovering photographs from 1975 or 1976, the committee believes this could have been the 50th year of the beloved tradition.
"The event is a cornerstone of March’s festive calendar, organised entirely by a small but mighty team of volunteers who donate their time and skills to make the magic happen year after year," she said.
Entertainment on the evening included performances from Youth Theatre Groups, Future Stars, and the lively Double Act from 20TwentyProductions CIC.
Adding to the atmosphere, One Wild Night played before and after the switch on by Santa.
Visitors also enjoyed fair rides, stalls, food vendors and a visit from Batman.
"A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and entertainers that who helped ensure you all had a magical night," added Jo.
Looking ahead, the March Christmas Lights Committee will be attending the Volunteering Fair on Saturday January 24 at St Peter’s Church.
