A school has celebrated a pupil’s creativity after she won a national design competition.
Year 5 pupil Lily Pooley, from Cromwell Community College’s primary phase in Chatteris, was named the winner of the “Under the Sea” competition, earning her classmates and teachers free T-shirts printed with her winning artwork.
Her design features an array of marine life alongside the phrase: "We are all different but at this school, we all swim together."
Claire Macdonald, headteacher of the primary phase, said: "The children thoroughly enjoyed designing marine themed pictures for this competition and we were very proud of all the entries from Cromwell.
"Special congratulations to Lily in Year 5, whose design won the competition - everyone at Cromwell Community College is very impressed by her artistic talent!"
"We would like to thank Edwards and Blake for running this competition, which inspired our pupils, and for gifting our T-shirts with Lily’s design printed on them."
The competition was organised by the school’s catering provider Edwards and Blake, who work with more than 160 schools and businesses across the UK.
