A food hub is celebrating two years of helping families put healthy meals on the table.
The Thorney hub of The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT) has provided affordable groceries and essentials to residents since launching two years ago, helping individuals and families access nutritious food while reducing waste.
Members pay from just £8.50 for three bags of food each week, containing fresh produce, chilled goods, and cupboard staples.
One member said: "The hub helped me financially.
"I am less stressed over making ends meet and I can pay by bills by spending less on feeding myself.
"I could not manage without TBBT."
TBBT chief executive Vic Harper said: "Marking two years in the Thorney community is something we’re incredibly proud of.
"Over that time, we’ve seen how access to affordable, healthy food can bring people together, reduce waste and strengthen neighbourhoods.
"None of this would be possible without our brilliant volunteers, whose commitment and care sit at the heart of everything we do."
The hub also provides non-food items, including hygiene products, and accepts Healthy Start cards.
Volunteers play a vital role in keeping the hub running smoothly and supporting the community each week.
Across TBBT’s network, 79 per cent of members report eating more fruit and vegetables, 71 per cent are cooking more meals at home, and 72 per cent feel more connected to their community.
Many members save up to £25 a week, easing pressure on tight household budgets.

TBBT is the UK’s largest member-based food redistribution charity, operating in 156 hubs across 33 local authorities and serving 100,000 members in low-income communities.
Last year, the network redistributed food equivalent to 21.4 million meals.
